About PICTDrive & ScienceGear
The public, open study archive built specifically for Pune Institute of Computer Technology students. Consolidating 1,800+ PYQs, handwritten topper notes, and lab manuals under one high-speed, modern interface.
Our Mission
Preparing for SPPU semester examinations and insem unit tests at PICT has traditionally meant digging through unorganized WhatsApp groups, expired Google Drive links, and fragmented Telegram channels.
PICTDrive consolidates 1,800+ past question papers, lab code templates, viva preparations, and microproject structures for Computer, IT, AI&DS, E&TC, and FE departments—creating a single source of truth for academic preparation.
Zero-Cost Architecture Breakdown
PICTDrive is built entirely on a highly-optimized, zero-cost modern stack to ensure sustainability for student maintainers without ads or paywalls:
Storage layer utilizing Google Drive API service accounts. Capable of handling high concurrency and direct media streaming with zero egress fees.
Authentication is strictly limited to @ms.pict.edu and @pict.edu via Supabase PostgreSQL triggers and Row-Level Security.
React frontend utilizing React Server Components and aggressive ephemeral caching to serve fast pages and UI interactions globally on the Vercel edge network.
Every verified student receives a personalized, isolated vault (with strict RLS policies) for secure storage of lab codes and project prototypes.
ScienceGear Foundation
Created and maintained by Pranay Tanpure alongside a team of student volunteer moderators. ScienceGear develops open academic tools, spaced repetition apps (like MCQ Recall), and productivity utilities specifically aimed at solving college engineering workflow problems.
